Overview

Position:
Full Charge Bookkeeper - Construction

Company:

Location:

East Windsor, New Jersey (Hybrid eligible)

Schedule:

Part-Time | 10-20 hours per week | Flexible schedule

Pay Range: $35 - $40+ per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely vendor payments and collections
  • Process payroll and maintain up-to-date employee records
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and job cost reports
  • Manage bank reconciliations and credit card transactions
  • Complete progress billing (AIA forms) and track retainage
  • Monitor project budgets and track job-specific expenses
  • Coordinate with project managers on purchase orders and change orders
  • Prepare and file sales tax reports, 1099s, and other compliance documents
  • Communicate with CPA on year-end closings and tax prep
  • Maintain subcontractor insurance certificates and compliance documentation
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of construction bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Proficiency with Quick Books (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of job costing and construction billing methods
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organization
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
