Description

The Vice President of Supply Chain and Customer Service is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize our supply chain, vendor management, distribution, and customer service operations. This role will manage and lead cross‑functional teams, ensure the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers, and drive continuous improvement in demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimization, warehousing, logistics, vendor, and customer service processes.

Requirements

Supply Chain Responsibilities
  • Lead and evolve the demand planning process. Leverage ERP and forecasting software to maximize inventory management with a balance of high service levels and high inventory turns. This role will lead and be responsible for the management of all forecasting activities associated with customers and vendors.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligning with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the management of warehousing facilities, ensuring efficient flow, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Manage transportation, distribution, and delivery processes to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of products to customers.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of department operations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage internal manufacturing scheduling processes. Work with manufacturing leadership to ensure the internal manufacturing production scheduling process is robust, efficient, and cost‑effective.
Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop customer service staff for optimum performance levels and ensure proactive account management.
  • Maintain and enhance customer relationships and meet organizational and operational objectives and goals.
  • Utilizes data, insights, and feedback to optimize support services.
  • Strive for a high‑performing Support function to quickly and effectively respond to customer needs and asks.
  • Plan, prioritize, and delegate work tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the department.
  • Ability to work closely with other departments, including production, distribution, and supply chain, as well as with our outside sales reps.
  • Work closely with inside and outside sales representatives regarding quotes and quality‑related questions or issues.
  • Maintain effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing excellent, in‑depth knowledge of company products and programs.
  • Establish and create SOPs.
  • High degree of business acumen, ability to analyze sales trends, order patterns, pricing exceptions, etc.
Your Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or general Business is strongly preferred (or a combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 7‑10 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, procurement, logistics, or a similar field.
  • The ability to analyze data, find meaningful insights, and note important trends.
  • Strong computer skills, with Microsoft Office proficiency (an Excel superuser).
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Customer‑focused with the ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written) with strong attention to detail.
  • MRP systems experience required.
  • Experience dealing with retail customers (ex., Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Rite Aid).
