Affinity FCU is seeking an engaged, eager individual to join our Deposit Operations team! The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for performing functions regarding Remote Deposits, mailed deposits and payments, deposit account verifications and write-offs, ensuring that processes are completed accurately and timely. The Deposit Operations Specialist interacts with members, businesses, third party vendors and frontline staff to provide a quality service experience.
The starting salary range for a new hire in this position is $40k-$45k. The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc.
HYBRID: 2-4 days per week onsite work required at Affinity HQ in Basking Ridge, NJ.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for assigned duties with respect to Deposit Operations and item processing in accordance with established deadlines and schedules.
- Review deposited Remote Deposit Capture items for completeness and approve checks for processing.
- Balances daily activity and assists with related reconciliations.
- Sort and process all daily mail received i.e. ups, Fed Ex, USPS, deposits, loan payments.
- Assists with escheatment of unclaimed funds.
- Assists with Negative Share write-off processes.
- Review and post daily deposited item returns and adjustments.
- Processing Foreign Check deposits.
- Complete account verifications from Social Security and other sources.
- Assists Branch and Hub personnel related to Deposit Operations inquiries.
- Responsible for research of legal correspondence around member accounts including levies, garnishments, subpoenas, freezes etc.
- Reviews activity for exceptional or unusual items and reports potential issues to management and Risk Administration.
- Recommends changes to internal policy and procedures regarding Remote Deposit, mailed deposits and payments, levies, negative shares, and account verifications.
- Assists with developing and maintaining processes around daily deposit operations.
- Assists with all related projects, product development and implementation of system updates.
- 2+ years of additional related work experience in a Deposit Operations role is preferred.
- Knowledge of DNA core system is preferred, but will train.
