Overview

The Back Office Manager is responsible for all non-scientific operational and administrative activities that support the company's research and business functions. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and productive work environment by managing everything from daily office logistics to critical vendor relationships and employee programs. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities
  • Office management & facilities:
    Oversee daily office operations, including managing supplies, equipment, and mail.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters, coordinating with landlords, maintenance staff, and contractors.
  • Ensure the office environment is well-maintained, organized, and provides a welcoming and safe workspace for all employees.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for office services, including cleaning, utilities, and office equipment.
Qualifications & skills
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an office management or administrative role, preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead cross-functional administrative projects in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office productivity tools.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with vendor management, budget tracking, and event coordination is highly desirable.
