Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and supporting the organization's accounting processes. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and a commitment to maintaining efficient workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices by matching, batching, and coding them accurately to ensure timely payments.
- Utilize the chart of accounts to assign proper codes for financial transactions.
- Monitor budgets and enforce spending limits to align with organizational financial goals.
- Prepare accounting documents for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
- Provide support for accounts receivable tasks as needed.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies and responding to vendor inquiries promptly.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures during the accounts payable process. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, including chart of accounts and budget management.
- Proficiency in basic Excel functions for data entry and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes is a plus.
- Availability to work onsite Monday through Friday, adhering to a 35-hour workweek schedule.
