Soni Resources is partnering with a client near Moonachie, NJ, on the search for an Accounts Payable Clerk.

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time. This role plays an important part in maintaining strong vendor relationships, supporting month-end close activities, and upholding internal controls and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and brings a proactive, go-getter attitude to the team.

Responsibilities
  • Review, verify, and code vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and timely entry into the accounting system.
  • Process payments via check, wire, and ACH in accordance with company policies and established payment terms.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, including tax documentation and payment terms.
  • Support month-end close by reconciling the accounts payable subledger to the general ledger and assisting with related reporting.
  • Prepare accounts payable reports, including aging schedules and payment projections.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting regulations.
  • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and committed to continuous improvement.

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
