Senior Property Accountant

Bergen County, NJ (Onsite)

Established and growing commercial real estate investment and management firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to oversee full‑cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. This is a high‑visibility role working closely with executive leadership and ownership.

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for assigned property portfolio
• Prepare monthly financial statements with variance analysis
• Handle accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization, and journal entries
• Perform bank reconciliations (operating, escrow, security deposits)
• Prepare CAM reconciliations and oversee tenant billings
• Support investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions
• Coordinate with lenders and assist with loan administration
• Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, and year‑end reporting
• Partner with property management and asset management teams

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3+ years of commercial/industrial property accounting experience
• Experience managing a portfolio of properties
• Strong month‑end close and financial reporting skills
• CAM reconciliation and tenant billing experience required
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with real estate accounting systems (MRI, Yardi, Sage, or similar preferred)
• Professional communication skills with ability to present to leadership
