Overview
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash application, audit support, and analysis of sales reports and trends. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing, and compliance with internal controls while providing general accounting support as needed.
This role is on-site 5x a week at our Neptune City, NJ facility.
MEASURES OF SUCCESSAccounts Receivable- Enter daily lockbox and ACH deposits into Business Central to apply to customer accounts.
- Monthly bank reconciliations for deposit accounts.
- Monitoring customer accounts for outstanding balances and work with the AR department on monthly/quarterly review.
- Process chargebacks, match-up back up documentation, scan to AR department.
- Maintains Accounting outlook shared email box and organize correspondence by customer or group.
- Monthly reconciliation for broker commissions by agreements by business unit/brand.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely payment of invoices, which includes the prompt entry of invoices; proper 3-way matching of invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents; coding of invoices to correct general ledger accounts.
- Assist in month-end close procedures and post journal entries.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of concentration.
- Minimum 4 years finance/accounting experience.
- In-depth experience with ERP systems with specific experience in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Ability to apply advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to daily work activities.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting and internal control procedures.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
