Tax Associate

Job Overview

The Tax Associate role at H&R Block supports clients with accurate tax return preparation while fostering business growth. This position offers flexibility, training, and growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and via virtual tools such as video, phone, chat, and email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Grow your tax expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25‑35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfort using virtual tools – video, phone, and chat.
• Strong communication skills in person, via phone, and in writing.
• Must meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
