OverviewThe Carpenter (Concrete Focus) is responsible for building concrete forms, pouring concrete, and finishing concrete surfaces to required specifications and associated materials and equipment within the industrial electrical industry. Incumbent performs this work within an established time frame and ensures that this work is done in conformance with quality work standards, project man-hours and in the established company guidelines and within regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Must be able to report to assigned job site location on time as directed.
- Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
- Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.
- Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work area.
- Has ability to erect and understand pulley systems to lift/move heavy objects.
- Must be able of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
- Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, manuals and written instructions.
- Employee must be able to direct/train helpers & apprentices in proper work practices.
- Must have ability to plan and organize task in order to meet task deadlines.
- Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 or more years of experience and meets requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements.
- Clearly understand and comply to company/job safety requirements. (OSHA).
- Must have ability & knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide accurately.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements.
- Must have knowledge of build, set and strip concrete forms. Prepare sites for concrete pours, including layout, grading, and reinforcement placement. Pour, spread, and finish concrete surfaces. Use hand and power tools to smooth, level, and finish concrete.
- Ensure concrete work meets quality, safety, and project specifications.
- Must have knowledge, certification and ability to perform First aid, CPR and Emergency rescue if ever necessary.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Concrete Finisher.
- 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
- Noisy environment.
- Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
USD $20.70 - USD $23.26 /Hr.
