PFS II - Financial Counselor Iberia, LA

IMC is currently hiring a Patient Financial Services (PFS) Support II - Financial Counselor position. The Financial Counselor determines any and all co-payments and deductibles that are due from in-house patients and requests these payments prior to discharge. Also determines any/all outstanding debts owed to the hospital, and includes these amounts in requests for payment. Includes cosmetic procedure processes and explanation of possible claim denial to patients.

Secondary duties include giving estimates to patients, physician offices, etc. Following hospital policies and procedures, enters newborn Medicaid subscriber numbers and gets NB claims ready to bill, assists patients with billing issues or questions on accounts, assists patients with Medicaid applications as necessary, backs up Cashier and Patient Account Representative as needed, and handles patient complaints in a timely manner as they are received.

• High School Graduate or equivalent

• 2-3 years previous hospital Business Office experience preferred

• 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
