Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position located in New Iberia, LA, with travel to project sites as required.
The Systems Integrator will be responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and supporting industrial control systems across multiple PLC, RTU, and HMI/SCADA platforms. This role requires hands‑on engineering in both office and field environments.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Programming and troubleshooting PLC and RTU logic across multiple vendors
- Configuring and deploying HMI/SCADA systems
- Integrating field instrumentation, analyzers, flow computers, and telemetry systems
- Troubleshooting communications (Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP, DNP3, OPC UA, serial networks)
- Supporting system upgrades and legacy migrations
- Developing SQL queries and supporting database‑driven systems
- Commissioning systems onsite and providing operator training
- Producing technical documentation including functional descriptions, IO lists, and network diagrams
This position requires someone comfortable working in mixed‑vendor environments where no two systems are identical.
Qualifications- Strong troubleshooting skills within complex industrial control systems
- Experience with multiple HMI/SCADA platforms (Ignition, Factory Talk, Wonderware, Cimplicity, VTScada, or similar)
- Systems engineering experience in automation design and implementation
- Knowledge of industrial networking (managed switches, VLANs, firewalls, serial communications)
- Familiarity with field instrumentation and industrial protocols
- Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and loop drawings
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- Willingness to travel (20–40%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred (experience may substitute)
- Five years or more within Oil & Gas or Energy facilities
- Gas measurement, analyzers, or chromatograph integration
- SQL Server or database‑driven SCADA systems
- Scripting experience (Python or similar)
