Position Overview:The Fleet Manager at Horwitz plays an important part in serving our field and office personnel with excellent customer service and teamwork while incorporating our core values of Safe, Accountable, Professional, Motivated, Can Do, and Curious. This position is responsible for overseeing Horwitz truck and van fleet, trailers, lifts, and utility vehicles.
Responsibilities/Duties:- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Manage Horwitz fleet:
- Collaborate with Purchasing dept in vehicle acquisitions and disposals
- Manage vehicle registration and ensure insurance is current
- Manage vehicle buildouts, outfitting, and be a visible presence for field
- Handle fleet inquiries and needs from division leaders
- Ensure vehicle “kits” are complete and ready for new hires/vehicle transitions
- Assign vehicles and manage requests for daily vehicle use
- Manage repair & maintenance requests
- Keep inventory of trailers and forklifts
- Responsible for fuel card program – ordering, tracking, reporting, and cancelling.
- Maintain Telematics program and periodic review.
- Keep vehicle data across systems (Telematics, Wex, Vehicle Tracker) up to date.
- Track vehicle expenses + costs vs. budget (assists GM with divisional leaders to track costs accurately).
- Oversees vehicle build out, tool out, and assignments.
- Manages delivery drivers for Horwitz – ensures they are current on all DOT and safety trainings, proper equipment is available and in good condition for cargo securement.
- Be part of a fun and productive warehouse & logistics team.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned.
- Manages Horwitz delivery drivers (work assigned by Shipping)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to independently organize, plan and prioritize work
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with technology and implementation of process
Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years minimum related experience
- Fleet management or operational involvement required
- MEP or logistics experience helpful
