Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.50

Responsibilities
  • Shift: Evenings, 2:00pm - 10:30pm (as part of the CNA role).
  • Schedule:

    5 shifts (40 hours) per two-week pay period.
  • Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required and holiday rotation required.
  • Active CNA on the MN registry required prior to hire date.
  • The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
  • Delivers age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs as per care plan, and follows infection prevention and control policies and PPE use.
  • Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Assists residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment; may provide range of motion and passive exercises.
  • Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining; assists residents with meals and snacks, and provides water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Assists providers and nursing staff as needed; documents resident interactions and care-related outcomes; communicates changing conditions to the charge nurse.
  • Collects non-invasive specimens and gathers vital signs; provides housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean, functional living areas.
  • Supports wellness and recreational programs and encourages resident participation; may participate in departmental/organization committees as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state-certified CNA within four months by enrolling in a training program or pursuing certification through Endorsement; CNA training and certification is provided by the facility.
  • Completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits; minimum 12 hours of continuing education annually; maintains department-specific certifications.
  • When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry in applicable states.
  • Role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver depending on facility requirements; must have a motor vehicle report and a valid driver’s license and be medically qualified to drive per Sanford Driving Policy.
