Forklift Operator

Location: 31 Waterfront Street, New Haven, CT 06512

Summary of Position: Operates forklift in a safe manner to stack and retrieve supplies and materials, maintain inventory, and ensure organization and cleanliness in the production area.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lift, stack, un-stack, and move materials using safe practices with equipment.
• Ensure goods are stored in the correct warehouse locations.
• Unload and load trucks from the warehouse.
• Load trucks ensuring loads are evenly distributed and secured.
• Complete and submit Equipment Check List Forms before using equipment.
• Complete and submit required documentation.
• Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in the work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to work in cold/hot environments.
• Detail-oriented and accurate.
• Effective communication with diverse personalities.
• Valid forklift certification, including safety procedures, inspections, handling, and other relevant knowledge areas.
• Willingness to perform all responsibilities associated with team positions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The employee must stand, walk, handle objects, and reach with hands and arms. The environment involves hazards typical of machinery, chemicals, heavy equipment, extreme heights, and possible hostile situations. Exposure to weather conditions and noise is common.
