Social Work Intern – Communi Care Program (Unpaid Internship)

Are you passionate about helping individuals access essential services, build stability, and work toward their goals? Communi Care is seeking motivated Social Work Interns to join our Communi Care Program. This is an excellent opportunity for students enrolled in accredited university programs who want hands‑on experience in community-based social services.

About the Internship

As a Communi Care Social Work Intern
, you will gain real‑world experience working directly with clients and supporting our multidisciplinary team. Interns participate in screenings, assessments, home visits, and care planning—all while developing strong advocacy, documentation, and engagement skills.

This internship provides structured supervision, exposure to community partnerships, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you may:

  • Conduct program screenings and assessments with clients
  • Engage clients in services and follow‑up support
  • Advocate for client needs within the agency and with community resources
  • Assist with developing service plans, recovery plans, and care plans
  • Participate in collaborative home visits with Communi Care staff
  • Complete required documentation for client interactions and services
  • Attend program meetings and local community collaborative meetings
  • Meet weekly with your field supervisor for structured individual supervision
Qualifications
  • Must be matriculated in an accredited university degree program (BSW, MSW, or related field)
  • Strong interest in community health, behavioral health, or social services
  • Compassionate, reliable, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse populations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow professional standards
