Transportation Case Aide (Bilingual) – Connecticut Renaissance
SummaryThe LYNC Transportation Case Aide is responsible for transporting youth and their families to and from LYNC programming. In a bilingual capacity, the Transportation Case Aide will: conduct duties in Spanish and/or English, assist clients with language barriers and translation in a non‑clinical capacity, and apply cultural, gender, and trauma responsive approaches in service to youth and their families.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide transportation to youth and their families to and from LYNC programming.
- Interface with clients, conduct bilingual duties, and assist with language barriers and translation.
- Provide group travel by picking up multiple youth within a common destination.
- Reinforce skills while transporting youth.
- Comply with all traffic laws and LYNC’s “How’s My Driving” expectations.
- Complete vehicle safety checks and inspections as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Participate in staff meetings and supervision sessions.
- Complete all required trainings within specified time frames.
- Maintain a mileage log and regular vehicle maintenance schedule.
- Track gas card usage and retain receipts.
- Keep the vehicle clean and orderly.
- Contribute to agency outcomes and performance measures.
- Adhere to state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, facility licensure, and funding source requirements.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Engagement and motivational skills.
- Vehicle safety checks and inspections.
- Proficiency with general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Manage priorities and meet deadlines while demonstrating multi‑tasking skills.
- Assimilate new information and technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- One to two years of experience transporting children or youth.
- Basic knowledge of the juvenile justice system.
- Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations on record.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Creole is a plus.
- Dependable, reliable, and detail oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Capable of meeting routine physical demands, including climbing stairs and carrying up to 20‑pound objects.
- Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
