Overview

Service Technician – Compressed Air Systems

Location:

Connecticut

Service Technician / Compressor Mechanic / Compressed Air Technician required to join a specialist provider of industrial compressed air systems and air-treatment equipment, based in Rhode Island with coverage across Southern New England.

This business supports a full portfolio of compressed air technologies, including oil-injected and oil-free rotary screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers, vacuum systems, mobile engineered solutions, and associated replacement parts. With continued growth across manufacturing, processing, and industrial sectors, they are expanding their field service capability across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and up to New Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced service professional to join a growing team, carrying out installations, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of compressed air equipment.

Compensation
  • $25 to $40 per hour DOE

Responsibilities
  • Perform service, diagnostics, and repairs on rotary screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, air dryers, and vacuum systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections, and performance checks across customer sites in Southern New England, including Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Install and commission new compressed air equipment, ensuring correct setup and system operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and parts usage.
  • Provide customers with clear information on system performance, repair needs, and maintenance recommendations.
  • Support emergency callouts and urgent breakdown repairs when required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Service Technician / Field Service Engineer within compressed air systems or industrial machinery.
  • Hands-on experience working with rotary screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, air dryers, and vacuum systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as required.
