Security Officer

Full Time Security Officer (Cultural Property)

Schedule:

* Thu: 9:30 AM-8:15 PM

* Fri & Sat: 9:30 AM-5:15 PM

* Sun: 10:15 AM-5:15 PM

Total of 31 hours per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable Security Officer to support an artistic environment by ensuring safety, security, and exceptional customer service. The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This position requires attention to detail, excellent observation skills, and the ability to interact professionally with visitors, staff, and colleagues.

The ideal candidate is dependable, customer‑service oriented, and able to respond effectively to incidents or emergencies as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct regular tours of assigned areas (requires extensive walking, stairs, and elevator use)

* Perform fire door checks at start and end of shift

* Maintain and secure assigned access keys

* Clear and inspect stairwells and bathrooms at end of shift

* Report abnormalities, safety issues, or incidents to main control

* Assist with emergencies and follow established response procedures

Requirements:

* Ability to walk/stand for long periods and navigate stairs

* Strong observation and communication skills

* Professional, dependable, and customer‑service oriented

Qualifications:

* Active Connecticut State Guard Card

* Active Connecticut State Driver's License - Reliable transportation & Clean Motor Vehicle History

* High School Diploma or GED

* 1 year of Security Experience required
- Military/ Law Enforcement experience may substitute

* Calm, polite, and professional demeanor.

* Reliable and self-motivated.
