Position: Scientist I, Injectables Drug Product Development

In this role, you will coordinate multi‑functional initiatives in the research, creation, and implementation of scientific studies. These studies facilitate develop ability evaluation of biotherapeutic drug candidates. You will also formulate drug products, perform characterization, and validate commercial parenteral/injectable biologic products. You will lead the development of drug candidates and utilize in‑silico tools to support develop ability, pre‑candidate selection, formulation and process development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead drug product development teams with multiple multi‑functional collaborators; understand the impact of project activities on corporate objectives and make scientific/technical proposals.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, external partners, and regulatory agencies; actively participate in department and team meetings, own and deliver on action items.
  • Prioritize work, lead project teams, and work independently while collaborating with others.
  • Perform in‑depth data analysis and write technical reports for clinical and commercial regulatory filings.
  • Stay current with literature on drug product manufacturing processes, equipment, single‑use systems, and global regulatory expectations.
Essential Education, Experience & Skills
  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering or related field with 0‑2 years experience, or MS with 9+ years, or BS with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in protein chemistry, biochemistry, protein formulation, stability, engineering or purification, and biopharmaceutical development.
  • Hands‑on experience developing and utilizing computational tools for protein engineering, solution behavior prediction, manufacturing process design, scale‑up, or automation.
  • Experience in biotherapeutics development and understanding of the biotechnology product life cycle.
  • Knowledge of biotherapeutics engineering, drug development, and analytical or in‑silico tools used to test drug candidates or processes.
  • Ability to take initiative in problem‑solving and propose strategic scientific/technical solutions based on project objectives.
  • Collaborative mindset and adherence to timelines; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Lab‑based role: lift/carry 15–30 lb unassisted or assisted; work in controlled environments with biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; use PPE, computer, and electronic communications.
Desired Experience & Skills
  • Experience with electronic record keeping, data software, laboratory instrumentation maintenance, and proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JMP, Graph Pad, and Adobe Pro.
  • Proficiency with in‑silico tools such as GROMACS, NAMD, Bio Luminate, MOE, Python ML libraries, or related platforms.
  • Programming experience in Python, C++, Fortran, R, or related languages.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory guidances, cGMPs, and quality/compliance expectations for parenteral drug development.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $110,687 to $145,277. Positions offer eligibility for short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles, and commissions for sales roles.
