The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and increasing sales in the territory and product markets as assigned by Tek Stainless Piping Products. The territory has been designated as Connecticut and Long Island. This should be done by managing key, target, and growth accounts, while also seeking new opportunities to ensure annual growth targets. The Outside Sales Representative must be innovative in determining and developing approaches to the growth of top line sales.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Outside Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Increase sales and provide support for current customer base within the assigned territory, including key, target, and growth accounts.
- Activelyvisit and communicate with companies within assigned territory to promote newgrowth.
- Entertaincurrent and potential customers to ensure annual growth.
- Performweekly quote follow-ups in support of Sales team efforts.
- Execute sales plans and strategies developed by the General Manager for new products.
- Assistin research, identification, and implementation of new products, customers, and programs to enhance annual profitability.
- Communicate with Inside Sales, Application Engineers, and vendors as needed.
- Providecall reports and vendor reports to the General Manager daily, as well as amonthly summary report.
- Timelysubmission of expense reports and other departmental expenses to the General Manager for approval.
- Adhereto all TEK's handbook policies, procedures, and codes of business ethics.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of sales experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem solving skills, and time management skills
- Marketing experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations customers/suppliers
- Strong work ethic; self-motivated
- Creative, forward thinker
- Valid state driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related area
- Four or more years of experience in sales and marketing
