Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology unit position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and night shift availability.

• Oncology unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Average patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting system:
  Epic
• Parking cost: $125/month
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer can be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
• Flu vaccine is required — declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed

• Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
• Nurses with priors on their nursing license are not eligible for this position
• 1 reference required for consideration
