Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Telemetry position requiring a CT or compact RN license and recent trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Pediatric Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital

• Level I Trauma Center with over 1000 beds

• Patient ratio averages 1:4

• Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00

• Weekend work required every other weekend

• Floating to other units required

• Uses Epic for charting;
Epic experience preferred

• Royal blue scrubs required

• Provide telemetry nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced trauma center environment

• Return permanent staff must have a 2-year separation before being considered as a traveler

• Holiday coverage may be expected as part of the rotation

• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius

• Facility automatically approves up to 7 days of requested time off (RTO); more than 7 days requires approval

• Travelers may be required to participate in emergency response activities

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license (may apply prior to consideration)

• At least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience in a large trauma center

• Current BLS certification required

• Previous trauma center experience in a large facility is required

• First-time travelers accepted

• Cannot have prior disciplinary action on nursing license

• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted

• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless approved for religious or medical exemption
