Position: System Executive Director, Center for Nursing Excellence
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Executive Director serves as liaison to Schools of Nursing, Performance Improvement, and the Nursing Cabinet to facilitate the use of clinical and financial data and research findings for decision‑making and implementation of programs that ensure excellence in the delivery of patient care.
The Director also oversees orientation of all nursing students and professional nurses, leads all Magnet initiatives, and collaborates with practice partners across the Health System to develop standardized care and practice policies.

Responsibilities Core Accountabilities
Provide vision and strategy to Nursing Professional Practice in the design, development, and implementation of clinically and fiscally responsive program philosophies, goals, and objectives in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officers and Chief New Executive.Ensure the establishment of clear performance standards within the nursing professional practice division in alignment with nursing best practices.Ensure ongoing monitoring of programmatic performance and evaluate and recommend strategic changes to respond to regulatory standards and clinical practice trends.Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to lead care transformation and innovation across YNHHS.Enable a culture of systemness by developing structures and processes that support nursing professional excellence.Create strategies, structures, and processes to foster an environment that supports nurses in their professional practice, overall health, and well‑being.Develop strategies and infrastructure to create an organizational climate that promotes rigorous inquiry to generate new knowledge (research) and translate evidence into practice to enhance patient care.Establish and strengthen academic partnerships to prepare nurses for existing and emerging roles, partnering with colleges, universities, and community nursing organizations.Increase nurse engagement in professional organizations locally, nationally, and internationally to advance the profession and enhance YNHHS nursing’s voice.Increase the visibility and reputation of nurses nationally and internationally through leading the coordination and dissemination of evidence‑based practice research projects.Lead the development of evidence‑based practice standards to reduce unwarranted variation and enable high‑quality, high‑value, person‑centered care across the continuum.Create an environment and infrastructure that supports professional growth activities, recruitment and retention of nurses, and implementation of a nursing research program.Enculturate and sponsor YNHHS nursing’s professional governance structure to enhance nursing’s voice in shared decision‑making and advance professional excellence.Partner with the Chief Nursing Officers to ensure a professional practice environment that enables hospitals to achieve or maintain Magnet designation.Fiscal Management
Ensure that resources are prioritized and properly utilized to achieve objectives through the most effective and efficient operations.Develop and present comprehensive analysis for financial and programmatic recommendations for nursing professional practice initiatives.Monitor financial performance and evaluate and approve recommendations for changes needed to achieve financial objectives.Articulate and communicate the rationale for financial decisions, ensuring high understanding among stakeholders across the health system.Continuously evaluate delivery…
