Paralegal OpportunityYale Investments is seeking a full time paralegal to assist and provide a range of legal and administrative support to six attorneys and other professional staff on the legal team, working closely with one other paralegal.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain reference/client files, organize and track investments and non-investments files for Investments attorneys.
- Assemble know-your customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) reporting and other compliance documentation.
- Fill out investment subscription documents, incumbency certificates, state registration forms, powers of attorney, applications, notarizations and the like.
- Organize and update in-house corporate documentation, including signature delegations, relevant authorizations and minute books; manage other corporate housekeeping matters, such as corporate registration fees for investment entities.
- Check legal forms and documents for accuracy; draft legal documents including contracts, and other legal documents using templates.
- Maintain compliance calendars and track projects and deadlines.
- Co‑ordinate within Yale Investments and with other parts of the university as part of diligence production/review, internal analyses, responses to third party inquiries and the like.
- Organize, analyze, cross‑check and validate information; summarize agreements, and other documents.
- Perform legal, statistical, documentary, factual, and records research.
- Author and sign correspondence that do not contain independent legal opinions or legal advice.
- Manage and keep track of legal invoices, generate summary reports.
- Maintain reference materials/law library.
- Provide administrative support to Investments attorneys, and perform other duties as assigned.
