Overview
This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing the patching of workstations, servers, applications, and systems to ensure security and compliance. The manager will supervise a small team of patch technicians, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to maintain a secure and resilient IT environment.
Core Responsibilities- Lead and participate in patching activities across diverse platforms including Windows, Linux, and third-party applications.
- Manage and mentor a team of patch management technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Develop and maintain patching schedules, policies, and procedures aligned with security and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate patch deployments and minimize operational impact.
- Monitor patch compliance and vulnerability remediation efforts, producing reports for leadership and audit purposes.
- Evaluate and implement patch management tools and automation strategies.
- Stay informed on emerging threats, vendor advisories, and industry best practices.
- Serve as a point of escalation for patch-related issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
- Support audits and assessments related to patching and vulnerability management.
- Proven work experience leading a team providing IT customer support/services

- Knowledge of patch management tools, e.g., SCCM, WSUS, Tanium, Ninja One
- Knowledge of life insurance enterprise products (e.g., Ingenium, Life
70, IDM, AWD) - Virtualization products (e.g., MS Hyper-V, VMware)
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or endpoint management, with 3+ years specifically in patch management; 1–3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience
The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,500 - $172,400.
Authorization to work in the United States is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
