Director of Finance

As Director of Finance, you will serve as a key strategic advisor and operational leader, responsible for the oversight and execution of all financial functions, including:

• Leading comprehensive government accounting operations in accordance with GASB standards and public-sector regulations
• Overseeing budget development, financial forecasting, and long-term fiscal planning
• Managing general ledger, financial reporting, audits, treasury, and internal controls
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
• Supervising and developing a high-performing finance team
• Presenting financial reports and recommendations to executive leadership and governing bodies
• Driving process improvements and financial system optimization
• Partnering cross-functionally with department leaders to support strategic initiatives and funding decisions

Government accounting experience is required.

The ideal candidate brings:

• Extensive experience in municipal or public-sector finance leadership
• Deep knowledge of government fund accounting, GASB standards, and regulatory compliance
• Proven success managing audits, financial reporting, and complex budget processes
• Strong internal controls expertise and risk management experience
• Advanced financial systems proficiency and strong Excel capabilities
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring finance teams
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders
• Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability

A CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration is strongly preferred.
