Overview
The International and Development Economics (IDE) program is a one‑year Master’s program at Yale’s Economic Growth Center (EGC). The Senior Administrative Assistant supports all aspects of the program, from student services to event coordination, within a hybrid work model at 27 Hillhouse Avenue.
Principal Responsibilities- Serve as the primary resource for IDE students, offering guidance on administrative, academic, and procedural matters.
- Plan and coordinate all IDE events, including orientation, prospective student visits, social gatherings, the annual dinner, and commencement activities.
- Maintain the IDE program website, student files, and academic record‑keeping.
- Act as the EGC receptionist, directing calls and visitors and fostering a welcoming environment.
- Provide editorial support, manage reimbursements, assist faculty with recommendation letters, and process invoices/payments.
- Coordinate travel and meeting arrangements, maintain inventory, and perform related administrative duties.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, email, calendaring, scheduling software).
- Strong organization, event planning, and program coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Reliable, professional, and flexible, with occasional evening availability.
- 1–2 years of full‑time work experience in a similar setting and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with Drupal or similar content‑management software is desirable.
Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, including a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Position may require standard physical tasks associated with office work.
