Manager of Disbursements-New Haven area (2-3 days in office)

The Accounts Payable Manager leads the end‑to‑end AP function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, expense reimbursements, tax reporting, and accruals. This role strengthens internal controls, enhances operational efficiency through KPI‑driven analysis, and partners cross‑functionally with Procurement, Finance, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee full‑cycle accounts payable operations (invoice processing, payment runs, reimbursements).
- Lead, develop, and evaluate AP staff; support hiring and performance management.
- Design and monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee IRS reporting (1099 & 1042), Connecticut sales tax reporting, and AP‑related accruals.
- Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Partner with Procurement and vendors to resolve invoice and receipt issues.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with deep AP expertise.
- Experience in high‑volume, multi‑entity environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
- Data‑driven mindset with hands‑on KPI development and analysis experience.
- Strong communication skills and business partnering ability.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Accounting.
- 57+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
- Authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with automated AP workflow systems.
