Company Overview
A public biotech/pharmaceutical company is focused on developing innovative antibody candidates. They are seeking a Senior Accountant / Manager to join their dynamic accounting team.
Job Responsibilities- Participate in monthly close activities such as R&D accruals, stock-based compensation, leases, and related reconciliations and journal entries.
- Lead preparation and coordination of R&D accrual meetings with internal teams and external vendors.
- Partner with the commercial operations team to support accounting for revenue, accounts receivable, inventory, and gross-to-net adjustments.
- Contribute to the preparation and issuance of SEC filings, including Forms 10‑K and 10‑Q, and other required reports.
- Manage the financial statement tie‑out process to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual financial audits, including documentation and testing of internal controls.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act and strengthening internal control procedures.
- Collaborate with the Accounting & Reporting Manager to research and interpret accounting guidance, applying U.S. GAAP to complex transactions.
- Monitor evolving accounting standards and assist in implementing new guidance and pronouncements.
- Work across departments to track project spending, financial milestones, and key partnerships.
- Provide analytical support to the accounting and finance teams, including ad hoc analyses and special projects.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal collaboration.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- 2–6 years of professional accounting experience, ideally including public accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and SOX compliance.
- Experience with a small‑to‑mid‑sized public biotech or pharmaceutical company is a plus.
Salary: $130,000 – $160,000
