What You Can Expect

As a Transportation Intern at Pike Industries, you'll gain hands‑on experience supporting the transportation and dispatch functions that keep our construction, asphalt plant, crusher, redi‑mix and delivery operations running smoothly. This structured internship will expose you to logistics, safety, performance and coordination across multiple teams while working in a fast‑paced, real‑world environment.

  • Exposure to transportation, dispatch, telematics, and logistics operations within the Construction and Transportation divisions.
  • Collaboration with Dispatch, Construction, Operations, Scales, and Hired Haulers.
  • Hands‑on involvement in safety and performance coordination.
  • Mentorship from experienced transportation and dispatch professionals.
  • Opportunities to travel to Pike locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
What You Will Do
  • Work with dispatchers and office staff to support hauler setup and daily operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between Dispatch, Construction, Operations, Scales, and hired haulers regarding safety and performance.
  • Assist with providing specialized rates as requested by sales or management.
  • Support the Dispatch Manager in securing hauler assets to meet daily operational needs.
  • Participate in field safety evaluations.
  • Take part in daily dispatch updates and operational reviews.
  • Assist in telematics (data collection for performance) and efficiency tools within the Transportation and Construction teams.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college, technical school, or degree program.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to analyze data and write reports.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and overnights.
  • Willingness to travel to other Pike locations across New England.
  • Valid driver's license.
