- Spring Framework / Spring Boot
- RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, GraphQL
- Databases: IBM DB2 (SQL, schema design) and ORM (JPA/Hibernate)
- Messaging: IBM Web Sphere MQ (MQSeries) and Apache Kafka
- Cloud: AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/S3/IAM as applicable)
- Source control:
Git Hub (pull requests, branching strategies) - Monitoring & observability:
Datadog (logs, metrics, traces) - Frontend:
React or Angular (consuming/building component-based UIs) - Containerization:
Docker
- Microservices architecture patterns (service discovery, resilience patterns)
- CI/CD:
Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, or similar - Kubernetes (EKS) or container orchestration experience
- Messaging design patterns (event-driven, pub/sub, transactional messaging)
- Security: OAuth2/OpenID Connect, JWT, API security best practices
- Graph
QL schema and resolver design experience - Agile tools: JIRA, Confluence
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain front-end features (React/Angular) and integrate with backend APIs
- Design and implement REST, SOAP and Graph
QL APIs and integrations with internal/external systems - Implement messaging integrations using Web Sphere MQ and Kafka
- Work with DB2: design schemas, optimize queries and manage data access via JPA/Hibernate
- Deploy and operate services on AWS; participate in troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and optimizing operational runbook items
- Implement observability: create dashboards, alerts and traces in Datadog; investigate and remediate production issues
- Apply software engineering best practices: code reviews, testing (unit and integration), design patterns, and documentation
- Mentor and guide junior developers; contribute to architecture and technical decisions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Minimum 8+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on Java development; 3+ years with Spring Boot in production
- Proven experience building and operating REST/SOAP/Graph
QL services and microservices in cloud environments (AWS preferred) - Hands‑on experience with IBM DB2 and messaging platforms (Web Sphere MQ and Kafka)
- Experience with frontend development (React or Angular) and API integration
- Familiar with Git Hub‑driven workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices
- Hands‑on experience with Datadog or similar observability tools
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
