Location: Pembroke

Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Suncook, New Hampshire.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $35.25 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

    Second Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or Technical Certification / Post‑Secondary degree (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires)
  • Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A – preferred
  • Additional certification as required by location (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
  • PC, Windows, mouse – basic computer skills
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Must pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, and Ryder Background & Motor Vehicle Check (including drug and alcohol verification for last 3 years)
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
  • Complete complex and detailed inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
  • Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Follow all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
  • Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Support operations as required (e.g., Service Island support)
  • Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
    220)
  • Complete two of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses required by location within 365 days
