Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Suncook, New Hampshire.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly Pay: $35.25 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical Certification / Post‑Secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
- Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A – preferred
- Additional certification as required by location (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
- PC, Windows, mouse – basic computer skills
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, and Ryder Background & Motor Vehicle Check (including drug and alcohol verification for last 3 years)
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Follow all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Support operations as required (e.g., Service Island support)
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete two of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses required by location within 365 days
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
