Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. This position involves evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. Technicians provide equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. They work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In a store, responsibilities include servicing Tool Rental customers, writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verifying proper tool operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for repair quality, and cleaned before returning to the originating store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide service to Tool Rental customers, including writing contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs.
• Verify that tools are operating properly and demonstrate their proper use as needed.
• Maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned before returning to the originating store.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and manage tool inventory by repairing and maintaining tools as necessary.
