Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $30 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained (up to $700)
  • Quarterly Bonus:
    Ryder pays up to $500 each quarter
  • Tool Box/Tool Allowance
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday; weekends off
  • Hours:

    Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
  • Performs preventive maintenance
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs
  • Replaces defective components as instructed
  • Performs facility maintenance duties
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
  • Uses shop management system and electronic documentation
  • Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and other regulatory guidelines
  • Performs other duties to support operations as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational/technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience with mechanical repair of automotive engines (gas or diesel) and routine preventative maintenance
  • Two or more years of related training and/or work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire; pass Ryder drug test; pass a DOT physical; pass a Ryder road test; and pass a background check
