Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

Join Safelite as an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee. In this role you will receive hands‑on and classroom training, complete Safelite Safe Tech certification, and develop the skills needed for unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations.

• Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on work and classroom training.
• Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and carry out diagnostic testing.
• Provide additional services and products as needed.
• Study and pass Safelite’s certification testing, demonstrating proficiency in installations and positive customer service.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $22.25/hr, increasing to $26.50/hr after training and certification.
• Earn $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Any other license(s) required by law for operating a company vehicle.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist body.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle per all federal, state, and local laws; agreement to be monitored via in‑cab vehicle safety camera or video surveillance.
• Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service and exceeding expectations.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
• Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals as needed.
• Availability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
• Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
• Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.
• Communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means).
• Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to dress code and PPE policies.
• Willingness to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure.
