Position: Housing Repair Technician
Location: Durham

Housing Repair Technician – University of New Hampshire

The Housing Repair Technician provides repair and upkeep services in residential hall bedrooms, lounges, and kitchen areas. The schedule is flexible with work performed Monday-Friday between 8:00 and 5:00.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspection, removal, maintenance, and repair of furniture in residential hall rooms and lounges to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Assist with the organization and upkeep of the furniture repair shop, including managing tools, maintaining inventory of replacement parts, and ensuring work areas are clean and operational.
  • Measure, purchase, and install window blinds across resident halls; repair and maintain inventory.
  • Measure, procure, install and repair dry‑erase and bulletin boards throughout residence halls, ensuring proper placement and functionality.
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma
  • Previous experience in a related maintenance role
  • Prior experience with small carpentry repairs, work order systems, identifying and requesting replacement parts
Required Licenses & Certifications
  • Driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of basic power and hand tools
  • Ability to perform and understand routine and complex repairs
  • Capability to lift 25 pounds
