Location: Durham
- Conduct research in space plasma and magnetospheric physics using data from the Magnetospheric Multiscale mission.
- Submit proposals for external (e.g., NASA, NSF) and internal (SwRI IR) funding for research and hardware development projects.
- Analyze data from the Magnetospheric Multiscale mission.
- Publish first-authored journal articles on findings from MMS data analysis.
- Assist with MMS-focused research led by SwRI-EOS team members, leading to and assisting with the publication of co-authored publications.
- Prepare and present research findings at conferences.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities beyond MMS, e.g., through NASA-ROSES and NSF programs.
- Requires a PhD in Physics with thesis on magnetospheric physics or affiliated space physics topics.
- 0 years:
Must be proficient in IDL, Mat Lab, and/or Python. - Experience in publishing articles in peer reviewed scientific journals.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
