This Data Analyst will work in the Wildlife Modeling and Management Research Group directed by Remington Moll in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at the UNH Durham Campus. The core functions include conducting data analysis, summary, and visualization work and preparing research papers and grants for ongoing projects. The level of skill required is commensurate with a graduate degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology or a related field.
The scope of responsibility is to conduct work in teams or independently, and coordinate with graduate students, research scientists, undergraduate technicians, and project directors to accomplish objectives. This position is not essential staff.
- Organizing and analyzing field data
- Geospatial analysis using GIS related tools
- Grant writing
- Scientific writing and manuscript preparation, submission, and revision
- Scientific presentation for multiple stakeholder groups and audiences
- Communicating with project partners
- MS Degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology or closely related degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Geospatial analysis skills in GIS and R
- Experience working with wildlife-vehicle collision projects and data
- Evidence of peer-reviewed publication
- Field skills relevant to wildlife monitoring
- Knowledge of New Hampshire wildlife ecology
