Overview

Valley Animal Hospital – A Nonprofit Community Practice

We are seeking an experienced veterinarian (one full-time or two part-time) who is motivated by mission-driven medicine and enjoys helping build and grow a community-focused practice.

Valley Animal Hospital opened in October 2024 as the nonprofit veterinary hospital of Conway Area Humane Society (est. 2003), combining a newly built public practice with the stability and mission of a well-established organization. We are actively building our client base while integrating care for shelter animals. This is a small, busy public-facing practice where veterinarians are hands-on in daily operations, work closely with a small team, and play an important role in shaping flow, client relationships, and long-term sustainability.

This role is well suited for a veterinarian who is personable, enjoys client interaction, and understands how strong medicine and positive client experiences drive growth in a new practice.

What This Role Is (and Is Not)
  • This is not a medical director role
  • This is a hands-on clinical position in a growing nonprofit public practice
  • Shelter care is an integrated responsibility, not a specialty focus
  • Veterinarians are expected to:
    • Practice efficiently and independently
    • Build trust and rapport with clients
    • Help increase and sustain client volume through quality care and communication
About Our Practice
  • Opened October 2024 and actively growing
  • Approximately 80% public practice / 20% shelter care
  • Approximately 75% of revenue generated from public services
  • Focused on:
    • Accessible veterinary care for the community
    • Efficient, organized care for shelter animals
    • Sustainable nonprofit operations
About The Area

The Mount Washington Valley is a wonderful place to call home. We are ranked a top 10 ski town in the U.S. with fantastic hiking, clean lakes and rivers, and quick access to the Ocean and airports in 1.5 hours. The Valley has all your creature comforts while also feeling like a small town. It is a great place to raise a family with wonderful schools, athletics, arts and more.

It is also very dog/pet friendly with hiking, bike paths and many pet friendly restaurants and stores.
