Associate veterinarian position

Just like everyone else, we are looking for an associate too. We keep growing so we need to keep adding doctors. Unlike everyone else, we do believe in work‑life balance and we don’t just claim to practice good veterinary medicine; we actually do. Full‑time doctors (there are four of us) and staff have a four‑day work week. We close at 5 pm every day except on Thursdays when we are open until 6:30 pm.

Since I was deprived of many toys as a child and never got my power wheels Barbie car, I have overcompensated in my “toy” buying at my practice. The good news is that since my parents insisted on giving me siblings (they really should have taken my advice about sending them back), I do know how to share. Some of the “toys” you’ll find are a therapy laser, a DR x‑ray, two dental x‑rays, ultrasound, a two dental machine with a high‑speed drill, Tonovet, ligasure and a full in‑house suite of Idexx lab machines to name a few

Sugar River Animal Hospital is looking for an associate who is looking for a long‑term position and is willing to learn, share their knowledge and work in a team environment. We believe it is important for us to have consistency and stability within our work family since it helps us to run better as a team, and it helps provide consistency in the care that we provide to our clients and patients.

The job hiring process is not fun for us and we want someone who wants to be part of our team and continue to help grow the practice.

We are open to either full‑time or part‑time employment. We welcome new graduates and will provide mentorship. Our owner had poor mentorship at her first job and will make sure that doesn’t happen to any new graduate that we hire. A new graduate doesn’t have to know everything, but is willing to learn and be open to trying new things with support and guidance.

• Graduated or graduating from a DVM or equivalent program
• Able to obtain a NH veterinary license and DEA license
• Be able to support our mission of treating our clients and their pets like family
• Excellent communication skills. It is vital that you can communicate with the staff as well as clients

Sugar River Animal Hospital is located in Grantham, NH, which is in the beautiful Lake Sunapee Region of tax‑free NH. Grantham is a small town with one of the best school districts in the state.
