An award-winning wastewater plant in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire is seeking a full-time, year-round individual to join our staff. Our Operators are responsible for the full-time operation and the general maintenance of the facility’s treatment process and equipment, as well as returning the treated water back to the environment. The position involves a variety of both physical and technical tasks such as testing and processing samples in our lab, inputting data into our plant databases, housekeeping, servicing the plant’s equipment, gathering plant data, snow removal, grounds keeping, repairing up to five miles of aluminum pipelines on our 300-acre site, to name a few.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work schedule will include a half day on either a Saturday or Sunday and full days on four weekdays. Operators participate in an on-call rotation to provide plant coverage outside normal working hours, including weekends and holidays. They may also be required to respond to emergencies and work in inclement weather as needed.
Must be available for emergency call-outs as needed.
- New Hampshire Wastewater Operator License Grade 1, 2 or 3 or the ability to obtain a NH OIT 1 Operator Certification within 12 months of employment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and willingness to learn, problem solve, and grow into a licensed operator
- Reliability, teamwork, and pride in maintaining a clean, well operating facility
- Strong mechanical skills and hands on aptitude
- Interest in wastewater treatment and environmental protection
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks year round
- High School graduate or equivalent, with technical/vocational school background.
- Applicant must possess a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record and must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$19 – $28 an hour. Depending on qualifications and experiences.
