Plating Technician 2nd Shift

Title: Plating Technician I 2nd Shift

Location: Lincoln, NH.

• Responsible for:
  Operates assigned equipment used in executing metal, finishing operations by performing the following duties.

• Loads and unloads tote pans of parts, stacks parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, racks, unracks, cleans, etches, desmuts, pickles, bright-dips dyes, degreases, heat treats, plates, coats, wet processes, and dries parts. Uses electric hoists and manual lifting.
• Following prescribed procedures for processing.
• Fills baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lowers material into the appropriate tank.
• Removes parts when the process is completed.
• Maintains the cleanliness of tanks and work areas.
• Monitors temperature of solutions.
• Maintains daily production logs.
• Physically inspects processing to ensure quality of product.
• May be required to perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance, and record keeping as needed.
• May be asked to troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.
• Is responsible for the quality of the product produced.
• Performs other duties as required.

• High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job, and the ability to solve problems.

• Stand and reach with hands and arms Regularly.
• Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls Frequently.
• Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear Occasionally.
• Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Regularly.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Required.
