The Production Assembler I position is responsible for using components and parts to produce products for delivery.
Responsibilities- Study and interpret assembly instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, positions parts, minor mechanical assemblies and examines connections for correct fit.
- Listen to directions from supervisors.
- Determine if all parts are present.
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
- Read parts list.
- Assemble tools and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies.
- Assemble components.
- Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
- Certified in conformal coating.
- Report assembly and production issues to supervisor.
- Documents actions by completing production assembly.
- Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
- Report errors in product line.
- Complete quality control forms.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Builds positive work relationships.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Required to successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen, vision screen and background check.
- Must be able to work independently and function effectively as part of a team.
- Occasional overtime may be required to include elongated shifts or occasional weekends.
- May travel to client sites on rare occasions.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- This position is mostly seated but must also be able to stand/walk regularly.
