Position Information

Full-Time: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm with nights and weekend work required as needed

Pay: $95,000 to $100,000 annually

Position

Description:

Serves as a technical expert of complex operating systems while overseeing and participating in the daily operations of the IT department, as well as leading IT staff to develop technology solutions that meet and/or exceed Company needs

Primary Contribution to Amoskeag Beverages
  • Manage a team of IT professionals, delegate tasks where appropriate and coordinate responsibilities and workload among members of the IT team
  • Prioritize technology initiatives with responsibility for planning, designing, organizing, deploying, evaluating, modifying, supporting and managing the Company’s current and future technology solutions
  • Design and install LANs, WANs, internet and intranet systems, and network segments
  • Maintain network and system security
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates, and patches
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accountable for overall system stability, uptime, responsiveness and integrity
  • Ensure that the organization is in regulatory compliance
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Domain Servers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair, ensuring that records of system downtime are properly maintained, apply revisions to host system firmware and software
  • Install, modify and maintain system and utility software on server computer systems. Provide server support related to other software
  • Design procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse
  • Develop procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of systems and applications which may be server-based, cloud-based, or workstation-based
  • Actively manage IT vendor relationships and maximize system utilization
  • Define and communicate new operating procedures, policies, and standards for the organization for all new technologies
  • Maintain high levels of internal customer service by providing support and troubleshooting problems reported by users. Lead problem solving efforts often involving outside vendors and support personnel or organizations.
  • Ensure that equipment inventory is accurately and properly maintained
  • Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new technology
  • Work closely with members of management to assess and implement technology needs
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required with 4 to 6 years of experience in complex network environment – each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
  • 1-3 years of management or senior level experience required
  • Knowledge of network management best practices including security and back-up/recovery
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to urgent situations effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with thorough attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, planning and documentation skills
  • Self-starter who is able to work both independently and as a team
Working Conditions
  • Office conditions with some work in a warehouse setting
  • Scheduled and/or urgent work nights/weekend required
