In this critical role, you'll help ensure smooth operations by coordinating staff schedules across several key hospital departments—including Med/Surg, ICU, ED, and our Ray of Hope geriatric psych unit.

Job Summary:

The Central Scheduler is responsible for managing and coordinating nursing and Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) schedules across the Medical/Surgical Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and the Ray of Hope Geriatric Psychiatric Unit. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe staffing levels, responding to call-outs, and working collaboratively with department directors to ensure smooth, uninterrupted patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate staff schedules for multiple clinical units including Med/Surg, ICU, ED, and Ray of Hope.

Ensure each shift is properly staffed according to the hospital’s staffing matrix and guidelines.

Input and maintain accurate scheduling records in UKG (or other scheduling platforms).

Monitor performance management alerts for call-outs, tardiness, and attendance issues.

Document all staffing call-outs and report as required.

Work closely with department directors to resolve staffing shortages and coordinate coverage.

Maintain an up-to-date list of required float staff and manage float rotation assignments.

Qualifications Experience Preferred

prior experience in hospital or healthcare organization preferred
