Position Summary

North Country Healthcare (NCH) is seeking a dedicated Financial Assistant to support the finance department in its mission to provide efficient and effective financial services. The successful candidate will be an energetic, detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to the day-to-day functions of finance. This role includes assisting with data collection/entry, invoicing, reconciliations, and general administrative support. The Financial Assistant will work closely with various leaders across the organization to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Education

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in business or accounting is strongly preferred.
Certification

  • Not required, but relevant certifications in accounting or finance are a plus.
Licensure

  • Association
    * accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data management, and formatting.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Work Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare or financial roles strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounts payable and general accounting practices is advantageous.
Essential Functions

  • Assist in data collection and entry to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Process invoices and support accounts payable functions to ensure timely payments.
  • Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and track financial transactions.
  • Compile mandatory reports for external agencies in compliance with regulations.
  • Organize and maintain financial records and documentation for easy accessibility.
  • Support the preparation of routine financial reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.
