Location: Newington

The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure objectives are achieved in accordance with established priorities, timelines, and budget requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Define project scope and objectives.
  • Prepare specifications, bid requests, cost estimates, and contracts for projects.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and implementation cost estimates.
  • Track and manage project costs to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Recommend make-or-buy decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversee maintenance and subcontractor activities; assist in problem resolution as needed.
  • Direct and coordinate project activities through delegated team members or outside contractors, ensuring minimal production or operational disruptions.
  • Request personnel assignments and coordinate schedules and activities with department managers.
  • Oversee planning of equipment layout, installation, modifications, and contractor/maintenance activities.
  • Analyze existing mechanical systems to troubleshoot issues, improve operating efficiencies (reduce operating and maintenance costs), and enhance system reliability.
  • Provide technical direction to Supply Chain during negotiations for goods and services required to complete projects.
  • Deliver consistent project updates to stakeholders regarding strategy, progress, risks, and adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Plant Engineering or Facilities Engineering environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and cleanroom operations.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
