Purpose:Support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach, utilizing their expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
Supervisor:Director of Student Services.
Minimum Qualifications:- Job-related experience within public school psychology is preferred.
- Advanced degree as required by Board of Licensing or Department of Education certification (Masters +30 or higher preferred).
- Must hold or be eligible to hold New Hampshire School Psychologist or hold a New Hampshire Psychologist license.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral form, their findings from conducted assessments and recommendations to parents and school personnel.
- Choose, administer and interpret assessment instruments.
- Proficient with technology, including relevant software applications.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records.
- Able to conduct psychological assessments within administrative guidelines and interpret the results.
- Able to write a psycho-educational report of results for various audiences.
- Psychological (developmental, cognitive, learning, and typical and atypical psychological functioning) and educational principles.
- Knowledge of pertinent codes, test construction, and statistics.
- Program planning and development.
- Policies, regulations, and/or laws.
- Specific ability-based competencies required.

- Communicating with diverse groups and individuals.
- Understanding detailed information and data.

- Work independently and/or under limited supervision using standardized practices.
- Assesses students' functional educational capabilities and home and/or classroom environment to determine students’ functional levels and develop recommendations for instruction, program needs, social/emotional/behavioral interventions, developmental needs, and/or placement to help children meet their educational goals.
- Compiles information from a variety of sources (e.g., students, parents, teachers, medical professionals, probation officers, mental health providers, and other involved people) for producing a comprehensive evaluation report in compliance with accepted guidelines.
- Administers standardized and/or supplemental assessments to measure the cognitive (e.g., intellectual, memory, executive function, etc.), adaptive, academic, social/emotional/behavioral development of children, determining, with the IEP team members eligibility for services in compliance with regulatory requirements, and/or identifying students’ learning needs to help children meet their educational goals.
- Communicates with students, parents, teachers, school personnel, outside service providers, and/or others involved with the student to evaluate situations and students, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts, and relaying results and recommendations in an understandable manner.
- Consults with students, parents, teachers, other personnel, and/or outside professionals to provide requested information, develop plans for services, and/or making recommendations to help children meet their educational goals.
- Coordinates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service, and mental health services for determining appropriate treatment plans and to meet the needs of specific students to help children meet their educational goals.
- Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g., correspondence, memos, behavior plans, Medicaid logs, psychological reports and/or summaries, supervisory evaluations, and other required documentation) to document activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information within all required timelines.
- Counsels students, parents, and guardians for enhancing students’ success in school.
- Facilitates meetings, processes, etc., to meet the students’ needs, ensure that state mandates and help children meet their educational goals.
