Special Education Coordinator

Crotched Mountain School, Greenfield, NH

Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire.

CMS sits on thousands of acres of preserved habitat and offers a therapeutic environment that encourages students to explore and thrive.

About the Role

CMS is seeking a skilled and dedicated Special Education Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of specialized education services. This leadership position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting instructional staff and fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of special education programming, including IEP development, triennials, alternative assessments, and transition planning
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations
  • Supervise and support para educators, the Educational Supervisor, and Vocational Coordinator
  • Serve as liaison to referring school districts, community agencies, and vocational services
  • Collaborate with the Principal to provide professional development and coaching to staff
  • Monitor and evaluate special education documentation and student progress
  • Support school operations, classroom assignments, and key school events (e.g., graduation, prom)
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Special Education (required)
  • Valid New Hampshire certification in Special Education (required)
  • Administrative or Principal/Assistant Principal certification (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience in special education
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
